1. Understand the Regulations
In Mexico, the government allows drone operation in certain areas, and the Mexican Federal Aviation Administration (AFAC) has specifically formulated a series of regulations to ensure safe drone operation. According to the current provisions, all operators of drones are subject to regulation. Strictly follow the local regulations when flying.
Model Requirements
Drones weighing less than 250 grams can be operated without registration.
Drones weighing between 250 grams and 2 kilograms require registration.
2. Prepare in Advance
Registration Procedure
a. Access the official website of the Mexican Federal Aviation Administration (AFAC), download and fill out the "K"-named regulatory form
b. Prepare scanned copies of your official identity documents and other materials, and refer to the image for detailed preparation materials
c. Send the materials by email for registration and wait for the review result
d. Successfully registered, you will receive an email reply with the registration number for your remote-controlled aircraft
3. Safely Fly
Drive your drone for entertainment or leisure purposes during the daylight hours, and keep it within visual range at all times. Keep the flight altitude at 122 meters or below.
