I bought a toy drone three years ago, and then the E.U. came out with a new rule that all drones with cameras have to be registered. To fly a drone with a takeoff weight of more than 250 grams, the Remote Pilot must take an exam and obtain a corresponding certificate, so the drone eats ash at home
One weekend, I suddenly wanted to pick up the drone, want to buy the DJI mini series. The factory configuration of DJI mini series drones is 249 grams, and the flying hand does not need to take a class exam. However, if you make a small change, the weight can exceed 250 grams, so I decided to go ahead and get the certificate first!
Students living in the Netherlands generally have to take courses and examinations in the Netherlands, and the certificate is issued by RDW and costs 10 euros. But note that RDW does not offer courses and exams!! In the Netherlands, you must attend courses and exams at several institutions designated by RDW. If you pass the exam, the institution will provide your information and results to RDW, who will then issue a certificate.
Generally as a hobby test A1/A3 certificate on the line. RDW provides about 10 institutions. I compared the prices and whether they offer English courses and exams one by one, and finally chose the Dutch Drone Academy 1/A3 Certificate course + exam, which offers English courses and exams and has three chances to take exams. I think it's good value for money. After registering for the course, you can study on your own online. Courses at the Dutch Drone Academy are divided into four chapters, each followed by 5-10 exercises.
Note that only after you have reviewed all the course materials and passed the chapter exercises can you take the exam! And I found that one of the questions appeared in the final exam, which means that the chapter exercises may be real! So take it seriously!
After completing the course, the button for the final Exam can be clicked. There are 40 multiple-choice questions and the exam lasts for 90 minutes without pause. If you answer 75% of the questions correctly, you pass the exam. Since you're taking the exam on your own computer, you can review the course material live, or Google! So I suggest that you open the test interface in a new browser window so that you can go back to the course material.
I made three mistakes and passed the exam. The agency will ask you to make sure your name and date of birth are correct, and then click on the send your link to notify RDW. Almost immediately, I received an email from RDW. By logging in to Digid, paying the fee, I completed my registration with RDW, and then received the e-certificate. Then when you fly the drone, just print it out and take it with you, or save it on your phone!
Don't forget, your DJI mini drone also has to be registered, because although it is less than 250 grams, it is equipped with a camera.
