Dji Usage in the United States
Enjoy the romance of California and capture the beautiful sunset and dusk with your drone to record the precious moments. However, you need to pay attention to the local flight regulations, three simple steps to help you comply with the flight.
Understand the regulations
The U.S. government allows drones to fly in some areas, and the main regulatory agency is the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). Drone use is categorized into Recreational Flyers, Commercial Drones, and Government and Public Service Drones, with Recreational Drones required to pass a TRUST test.
Flight Preparation
Compliance with FAA Remote ID
According to the FAR Part 89 Remote ID (RID) regulation, the start of RID
compliance for U.S. users is March 16, 2024. After that date, please use a drone that is FAA RID compliant, or retrofit the drone by purchasing a third-party RID module that complies with the RID MOC.
Ensure app, craft, and remote control firmware is up to date
The latest firmware for the DJI Mini 3/DJI Mini 4 Pro will only activate the RID when using long-life batteries.
Pass the TRUST test
All recreational drone pilots are required by law to pass an aeronautical knowledge and safety test and provide proof of access when requested by law enforcement or FAA personnel.

Safe Flight
Drones should only be flown during daylight hours in cloud-free conditions, at a height of no more than 120 meters above the ground, and away from people.
There are many types of airspace restrictions in the U.S. Download the B4UFLY App for your cell phone or visit your local airspace restrictions website to learn more.
Drone flights are prohibited in all U.S. national parks.
