I. Understanding the Regulations
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), flying a drone for recreational or leisure purposes requires registration based on the weight of the drone.
Less than 250 grams total weight, no registration required
For weights between 250g and 1.5kg, registration is required, but basic training or a basic training certificate is not required.
Failure to comply may result in a fine of up to S$10,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months, or both.
Please note: DJI Mini series drones weigh less than 250 grams and do not require registration, but note that if you install accessories such as paddle guards or long-life batteries (e.g. Mini 4 Pro), they will exceed 250 grams and will need to be registered and flown, just like the DJI Air, Mavic and other models.

II. Registration Process
1. Apply for UAPass
Visit the UA Portal to apply online. The official processing time is approximately 5 business days, so it is recommended that you apply well in advance of your trip.
2. Purchase a registration label
You can choose to purchase online or offline, you need to prepare a copy of your personal documents (such as passport) in advance, please refer to the picture for details.
3. Paste the QR code
Attach the registration label according to the specification, and make sure it is pasted on the front of the drone body.
Take a complete photo of the drone (with QR code) and save it. Lost or damaged registration label will not be reissued, and you need to purchase a new registration label.
4. Complete the registration
Follow the text prompts and fill in the registration information step-by-step to complete your registration by logging into the online UA portal with your UAPass account.

III. Safe Flight
Drones are only allowed to fly from 9am to 18pm, not more than 60 meters above sea level, and away from people.

Download the OneMap SG app for your cell phone to see in advance if your current airspace is clear for flight and includes geographic and regulatory requirements for drones in certain areas.
