A big earthquake!
The Japanese accommodation industry is affected, and the demand for disaster reconnaissance and rescue drones is revealed.
After the earthquake warning was issued in Japan, about 450 guests cancelled their reservations. Hotel operators said that while the guests' mood was understandable, the sudden appearance of a large number of cancellations caught the hotel side off guard and had an impact on operations.
Many tourist attractions in the area covered by the earthquake warning were affected. In Shizuoka Prefecture's Izu Peninsula, over 550 tourists cancelled their accommodation reservations in Shimoda City. A senior official from the Dogo Onsen tourist district in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, estimated that at least 1,000 tourists would cancel their accommodation reservations in the area by August 15. The famous white sand beach in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture, was closed, and the fireworks display had been cancelled. A hotel in the prefecture received a large number of calls from customers asking if it was safe, with 350 reservations cancelled. According to Japanese media, once a major earthquake occurs in the South China Sea trench, Japan's Pacific coast, including the Kanto region around Tokyo and Kyushu, Okinawa, will face strong earthquakes and tsunamis. In the worst case, the number of deaths caused by the earthquake is expected to exceed 320,000, with at least 2.38 million houses damaged.
